What are bare-root trees?

Bare-root fruit trees are grown in a field, then harvested during their dormant season for shipping. The soil has been removed from the roots, giving them the name “bare-root”. The roots must be kept moist and frost-free throughout the shipping and delivery process until they are planted. The majority of our bare-root trees are branched, two year old trees.

Advantages of purchasing trees bare-root include affordability and ease of transport and planting.
